went to sungei buloh natural reserve this morning. had a pretty bad start. went to kranji mrt station to take a bus to the place. thought it would stop outside the place. who knows the bus driver drove past the place without stopping; and his stupid bell doesn't work on the bus. haha. in the end we stopped some distance away from sungei buloh and walked back. thankfully the weather was pretty kind to us. the korean singer didn't come. the word is taboo. in case you dun understand, i'm talking about rain. it has been raining every morning and the weather is super erratic recently. so really happy that it was cooling, especially since it was a long walk in the reserve. anyway i have never been to any reserve parks before, sadly. i am never a bugs or animal person. i have problems identifying creatures.

first off, the animal below. a salamander. i have heard of this name, but i never thought it would look so disgusting weird.

and i never imagined that there would be so many different species of dragonflies. i always thought that all dragonflies are the same as what i have always seen in the neighbourhood.

red dragonfly

blue dragonfly

one thing really sad about the place is that it's bug infested. sorry but i must admit i am a sucker for bugs. i totally HATE them. spent wasted $10 on an insect repellent spray that doesn't work. i still ended feeding all the mosquitoes in the reserve. DO NOT TURN A BLIND EYE TO DENGUE is what the government has been telling the public nowadays. why is the reserve park not heeding the advice? haha.

this structure is not a fan. how i wish they would install one. it's actually a roof structure in one of the pavilion

they have lots of pavilions like this in the reserve for poor souls who need to hide from the treacherous weather at times; be it scrotching sun or rainy days

a make shift toilet in the park, a rare sight though. quite a welcome for some people in need. =X

if you noticed, the photos today seems moody and emo. guess it shows how much i hate the place. so sorry. haha

what a weird sign. as though a publicity for a new movie called deep water

and the poor soul who fed the mosquitoes with me =D

overall, i feel that it is an interesting place. really opened my eyes to the many many different types of creatures in the world. but still, doubt i will be going back so soon again. not really highly recommended for people who hate bugs like me, or who can't stand the hot weather etc etc. for more pictures, check out my fotologue or my facebook =)
